A puppet inspired by Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors"

I made the pattern for this puppet based on the shape of an inflated balloon, then worked on getting the mouth plate in place. Some adjustments were made to the overall shape as I went to allow for a better, more natural, range of movement.

I covered the surface of the puppet with a thin layer of foam clay to add texture, building up the lips and adding sculpted teeth.

The tongue was also added in at this point. It is made of upholstery foam which was carved into shape and glued into place using contact cement at the back.

I spray painted a plant pot brown, then added patches of darker greens and browns.

I finished off the puppet by adding a burlap strap to aid in carrying it around the parade, poseable tendrils made with wire encased in EVA foam, fake foliage, and a foam tag, weathered around the edges with a dremel.
